Science studies are fundamental to understanding the natural world around us.
Through our cutting-edge programs, you will become adept at probing a variety of sources for information, applying research techniques, and making critical assessments of your findings. We teach theory as a “pyramid of knowledge”, in building-block style, to give you the solid and broad base of knowledge you’ll need, wherever the future takes you. Many of our professors lead their field in Canada, North America, and even the world! As a Carleton student you will benefit directly from this. Also, our facilities include state-of-the-art laboratories, teaching and research equipment, and classrooms.
Carleton’s Bachelor of Computer Science teaches you the fundamentals in computer science, while allowing you to explore and experiment with the latest computer systems and applications. You will learn the principles that will help you adapt to changing technology, while learning the required skills for becoming a practising software engineer. The Honours Bachelor of Computer Science (B.C.S.) program is professionally recognized and accredited by the Computer Science Accreditation Council, sponsored by CIPS, the Canadian Information Processing Society. In addition to the B.C.S. degree, students can earn the Information Systems Professional (I.S.P.) professional designation.
The mathematics program is built around a strong core of fundamental pure mathematics, which allows you to branch into many different areas of modern mathematics and applications.
