David Miller Among Group of Global Experts to Release Recommendations for Food Safety and Nutrition

A group of global experts on food safety and nutrition, including David Miller, a professor of Chemistry from Carleton University, met at the Vatican in September for a workshop on Food Safety and Healthy Diets, sponsored by the non-governmental organization GAIN and the Pontifical Academy of Sciences. In addition to scientists, representatives from the World Bank, WHO and FAO participated in the meeting, which aimed to explore new approaches to food safety and nutritious foods within the wider agenda of improved food security in support of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Miller was invited because of the IARC panel he co-chaired on this issue released in 2016, the research he contributes to developing regions and because of his participation in IARC and JECFA panels that deal with mycotoxins.
