Dr. Malika Sharma will speak about the importance of equity across medicine, clinical research, and her experiences with EDI in these spaces.
About the speaker: Malika Sharma is an HIV and Infectious Disease physician and Clinician Teacher at St. Michael’s Hospital. Clinically, she focuses on caring for people and communities who are often marginalized and oppressed by our healthcare systems, including those who use substances and people living with HIV. Her teaching and scholarly interests center on anti-racist and feminist practices within medical education, harm reduction, and the structural determinants of health.
This event will be hosted virtually with an in person viewing in Southam Hall, Room 624. Registrants may participate in person (100-person capacity; first-come, first-served), or may be sent a link to the virtual presentation.
