We’re excited to announce this year’s NSERC Discovery Grant Workshop, taking place on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. in Nicol Building Room 5010.
This session, co-hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Design and the Faculty of Science, aims to provide researchers with comprehensive insights into the NSERC Discovery Grant program, whether it is your first time applying or you are working towards a renewal. This session will be led by researchers from each faculty who have served on a Discovery Grant Evaluation Group and/or have recently been successful in the competition. It will be an active and informative discussion on important aspects of the application itself, the review process, and strategies that applicants can use when applying.
Key topics to be covered during the session include:
- Information and tips on proposal development, the peer review process, and evaluation criteria.
- Panel discussion regarding their experiences reviewing applications, and what they look for (both positives and negatives) in funding applications.
This event, open to the entire Carleton campus, will be hybrid (Zoom link to be sent after registration) and recorded. The recording and slides will be available after the session to all registrants.
We look forward to seeing you (virtually or in-person) there!
