Biography
Dr. Catherine Cullingham is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Carleton University. Her research uses landscape genetics and population genomics to fill knowledge gaps and develop tools that can be applied to issues in forestry and wildlife management. She is currently co-leading a Genome Canada Large-Scale Applied Research Project: TRIA-FoR (Transformative Risk Assessment and Forest Resilience using Genomic Tools for the Mountain Pine Beetle Outbreak) which is using genomics-informed knowledge to mitigate risk for continued eastern spread of mountain pine beetle, and improve forest resiliency in future epidemics.
