Carleton mourns loss of John Reid

The Carleton University community is mourning the loss of John Reid, who passed away suddenly on June 24, 2019.

Reid graduated from Carleton with a Master’s degree in International Affairs in 1978 and, as President and CEO of the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATA), he became a prominent national advocate for advanced technology.

For many years, Reid had strong connections to Carleton’s Institute for Data Science. He chaired a panel discussion on Authoritative Data: Rethinking Data Regulation at Data Day 5.0.
