Cameron McDermaid has been an epidemiologist with Ottawa Public Health since 2008. A graduate of the epidemiology program at the University of Toronto, his current portfolios at Ottawa Public Health includes risk behaviours, social determinants of health, injury, chronic disease, environmental health and syndromic surveillance. He’s also worked in the respiratory and enteric infectious disease portfolio. During the COVID-19 response, his role has primarily been data relationships with partners like Ottawa hospitals and around new and emerging data like wastewater surveillance.
