Dr. Jun (Steed) Huang is an Adjunct Professor, School of Computer Science. He was also the Trust Connected Autonomous Vehicle Program Researcher (Full Time). He was the Chief scientist for the Alphaba autonomous bus and 5G Jiamei connected delivery kart. His research on AUTO21 was funded by major car manufacturers, and he has worked with a hundred partners including Apple, Microsoft, Blackberry, VisionX and WiLAN. A range of organizations are using the knowledge generated in Dr Huang’s research including the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Ontario Provincial Police, Ottawa Police, Defence Research and Development Canada, Canadian Space Agency, Communications Research Centre Canada and the Canada Border Services Agency. He holds a hundred patents across many disciplines including biotechnology, medical equipment, border surveillance, quantum sensing, AI/SI, blockchain, and wireless networking.
