Kathleen Marsman is a Patent Agent at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (Ottawa), and is registered to practice in both Canada and the U.S. Kathleen studied biochemistry at University of Waterloo in her undergrad, and obtained a PhD in Nutrition and Metabolism from University of Alberta prior to training as a Patent Agent. Kathleen specializes in drafting and prosecution of patent applications for a wide variety of technologies in the life sciences sector, with clients ranging from universities and start-up companies to multinational corporations. Kathleen has been involved in CIHR commercialization grant panels since 2003, currently serving as outgoing chair of the CIHR-CMZ panel.
