This session, co-hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Design and the Faculty of Science, aims to provide researchers with comprehensive insights into the NSERC Discovery Grant (DG) program, whether it is your first time applying or you are working towards a renewal. This session will include active discussion and engagement with faculty members who either have experience serving on NSERC DG evaluation groups or have recently been successfully funded with high ratings.
Key topics to be covered during the session include:
- An overview of the NSERC DG program, including success rates at both Carleton and across Canada.
- Information and tips on proposal development, the peer review process, and evaluation criteria.
- Panel discussion regarding their experiences reviewing applications, and what they look for (both positives and negatives) in funding applications.
