Associate Dean (Undergraduate Affairs)
The Associate Dean (Undergraduate Affairs): works with units within the Faculty of Science on new undergraduate (UG) program development and major/minor UG curriculum modifications as well as evaluating UG academic integrity violations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Chairs Science Faculty Board (SFB) and Science Committee on Academic Planning (SCAP) meetings
- Represents faculty on the Senate Quality Assurance and Planning Committee (SQAPC), Senate Committee on Curriculum, Admission, and Studies Policy (SCCASP) and Undergraduate Affairs
- Represents faculty on teaching and learning related working groups (Working Group on AI in Teaching and Learning, Future of Teaching and Learning Working Group, Joint Subcommittee on Teaching Evaluations (JSTE))
- Oversees Academic Integrity Policy violation cases in undergraduate courses within the Faculty (except those in computer science)
- Hears and considers formal grade appeals and student complaints (undergraduate)
- Approves undergraduate course grades
