Manager, Administrative Services
The Manager, Administrative Services position is a key partner in ensuring the successful administration of the Faculty of Science (FOS). The Manager, Administrative Services has deep knowledge of processes involved in academic program administration and human resources, and leverages this background to provide advice to the Dean on a wide range of matters. This position manages the administrative, communications, events, and Science Student Success Centre(SSSC) teams within the Office of the Dean of Science and monitors, identifies and makes recommendations for operational efficiencies in the Faculty of Science.
- Identifies goals, targets and outcomes in strategic human resource planning for Dean’s office, the 12 Faculty of Science units (Departments, Institutes and Schools) and three service departments
- Monitors unit-level policies and procedures regarding employee relations, ensuring compliance with University procedures and collective agreements
- Oversees coordination of administrative processes for faculty career paths (hires, renewals, sabbaticals, promotions, tenure, and career development increments), including responding to questions, ensuring compliance with policy, and preparing documents and reports
- Provides day-to-day leadership and direction of administrative, communication, and event operations within the Dean’s Office and the SSSC, prioritizing and delegating work, developing, and implementing training plans and programs, ensuring work quality and completion, and managing scheduling and attendance
- Provides advice and support to academic leaders and managers within the Faculty of Science on administrative matters
