Eureka! Magazine: Spring 2026
Carleton Science’s Digital Magazine
Eureka! is Carleton Science’s magazine, created to connect students, alumni, faculty, and staff with the exciting developments shaping our student and research communities. For more than 20 years, the publication has highlighted the discoveries, achievements, and moments of insight that set Carleton Science apart.
A eureka moment is a sudden flash of understanding. It’s the unforgettable “aha!” that drives science forward. Eureka! celebrates those moments by telling the stories behind the breakthroughs happening at Carleton.

Land Acknowledgement
We, the people of the Faculty of Science at Carleton University, acknowledge that our campus is located on the traditional, unceded territories of the Algonquin Anishinabeg people. Miigwetch to the Algonquin Anishinabeg people for their stewardship of this territory and the teachings that come from it. We are grateful for this land, the air we breathe, and the water that sustains us all as well as the animals, plants and other living beings: these enable us to research, teach, mentor, support, study, and learn. We recognize our responsibility to our natural environment and to reconciliation with Indigenous peoples.
A Message from the Dean of Science

Welcome to the Spring 2026 edition of Eureka! Magazine and our very first digital edition.
It has been a few years since our last issue, and in that time, Carleton Science has experienced a remarkable period of growth. From new programs and building to expanded ways of sharing our stories, there has been much to celebrate, making this an especially meaningful moment to reconnect through Eureka!.
